Easy Inhalation
Add 3-4 drops on a tissue paper. Place the tissue near your nose and inhale.When trying an oil for the first time, use only a drop to ensure you don't have any sensitivity reaction to the oil.
Steam Inhalation
Pour 2 cups boiled water in a bowl and add 3-7 drops of oil into the bowl of water. Placeyour nose 12" away from the bowl and inhale. Use fewer drops if you are using an oil that may cause irritation to mucus membrane. (eg.cinnamon , eucalyptus, rosemary, pine,thyme,cajuput etc.) Doo't inhale constantly, stop immediately if irritation and discomfort occurs.This method is useful for cold or flu. Energizing and relaxing oil can make this method useful for anytime of the day.
Room Refreshing
Pour 2 cups boiled water in a bowl and add up to10 drops of oil into the bowl of water. Other methods can either be using aromatherapy diffuser or lamp scent ring.
Household Refreshing
Add a few drops to your trash can, laundry wash, drain and on tissue paper for placement in drawers.
Insect Repellent
Some essential oils such as citronelle , lavender and peppermint act as natural insect repellent. Sprinkle a few drop onto cotton balls place them near your doorway and windows.
Aromatherapy Massage
Add 20 drops of essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil(eg. almond) massage onto yourself or partner.
Bath
Add 5-7 drops of essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil, Add this blend to your running bath water and mix well before getting in the tub.
Other
Essential oil can be used in homemade lotions, facial toners, shampoo, perfumes, soaps and shower gels. Essential oils are often blended for their therapeutic synergistic abilities.
